# Internal agent

One agent that many people in a company can give work to.

Shopify's River, which works in public Slack channels, is an example. Because many people direct one identity, decide whose limits apply: the agent's, or those of the person asking. If the agent can do more than the person asking, that person can get it to do what they could not.

Also called: AI teammate, AI coworker, Digital colleague

Kind of: Enterprise agent

Often confused with: Custom assistant
