Deployer
A company or other body that uses an AI system under its own authority, as opposed to the provider that makes it.
The EU AI Act (Article 3(4)) says: "a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body using an AI system under its authority except where the AI system is used in the course of a personal non-professional activity." Many people assume a deployer is the builder. Under the Act, a company that uses an AI system at work is a deployer; the company that makes it is the provider.
